The Electrical Equipment Co., which later became the Amana Corporation, was founded in 1934 by George Foerstner in Middle Amana, Iowa. They began by making walk-in coolers for commercial use followed by making a huge impact in home kitchen improvements with the upright freezer. It wasn’t long until they added a side-by-side refrigeration appliance to their product line for consumers to consider. Then, in 1954, Amana branched out of the kitchen appliances and produced their first air conditioner. Amana has grown over the years and integrated into other parent companies. Their HVAC division, manufacturing air conditioners and furnaces, is currently owned by Goodman Global which is now part of Daikin North America. Their home appliance division, manufacturing ovens, countertop ranges, dishwashers, and clothes washers and dryers, is owned by Whirlpool.
While Amana is headquartered in Newton, Iowa, their manufacturing plant is located just outside Houston, Texas in what is currently the largest HVAC building in the United States. This 4.2 million square foot building is home to their manufacturing, engineering, logistics, and customer support teams, allowing them to have optimal collaboration on the design and manufacturing of their HVAC products.
Amana is one of the top ten HVAC brands according to Modernize, a company that works with consumers to find local heating and cooling contractors. Williams Comfort Air is proud to service all models of Amana air conditioners, heat pumps, air handlers, fan coils, gas furnaces, geothermal, and indoor air quality products.
Amana, like other HVAC companies, prides itself on having quiet, energy-efficient, cost-effective product options to meet consumer needs. One such option for an Amana heating and cooling system is the easy-to-use ComfortNet communication technology. This technology allows a consumer to control their home’s heating and cooling as well as dehumidification and humidification needs.
Amana products are held to the highest performance standard and are rigorously tested to assure the highest quality of service and reliability. Williams Comfort Air is ready to service all models of Amana products when the need arises.
