Rinnai started in 1920 by Hidejiro Naito and Kanekichi Hayashi. One year later, they launched their tankless water heater. In the 1950s, Rinnai paired with Schwank GmbH, a German company, to create infrared gas burners and stoves. In 1971, Rinnai started product development with Osaka Gas Co.

Robertshaw is a manufacturer of HVAC components and controls. The company was founded by Frederick W. Robertshaw in 1899, following the invention of his home water heater thermostat. Ruud was founded by Edwin Ruud, a mechanical engineer who was a Norwegian immigrant. He changed everyday life for people when he invented the automatic storage tank gas-fired water heater while working for George Westinghouse in Pittsburgh in the 1880s.

Weil McLain is a division of The Marley-Wylain Company and was founded in 1881 under the name Weil Brothers. In 1918, the company acquired their main supplier, J.H. McLain Company, and began operating under the name Weil McLain.

Today, Westinghouse is a division of Nortek Global HVAC, formerly known as Nordyne. The Westinghouse Electric Corporation was founded in 1886 by George Westinghouse in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. With over 100 years in business, Westinghouse has produced a number of quality heating and cooling products over the years.

White Rodgers is a brand of Emerson Climate Technologies US. White Rodgers was started by two former Emerson Electric Co. employees, James Rodgers, and Chesterfield White. They first worked to develop a new control type for temperature and refrigeration systems using hydraulic action. In 1962, White Rodgers became part of Emerson.
